Leader Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a Newcastle based secondary school. The successful Learning Support Assistant will have an ability to support teachers and participate to the wellbeing and development of students with SEMH needs. This school takes pride in upholding its fundamental principles, providing great education to 100 students. It caters to their diverse requirements within a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 4pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will have:
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
- This role involves collaborating with vulnerable individuals who have educational health care plans
- Demonstrate understanding of SEMH children and the various behaviours they may display
- Have confidence with working closely with students, providing support in their learning, and participating in general classroom activities
- Demonstrate adaptable communication skills towards the children whether it be in a 1:1 or in small groups
- Promote positive behaviour and the confidence of pupils
