Job Title: Band 7 Occupational Therapist

To take a leadership role in the clinical delivery and evaluation of therapy services in General & Specialist Medicine

*

To provide clinical specialist Occupational Therapy skills for both general and specialist medical and frailty patients.

*

To provide a key focus for therapeutic clinical expertise, high quality advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team.

*

To establish and develop sound communication networks, along with other clinical specialists across the Health Economy, in order to provide a high quality, efficient service.

*

In conjunction with the MDT, develop and deliver postgraduate training relevant to clinical specialty.

*

In conjunction with the Site Lead and Clinical Therapy Leads, ensure clinical governance targets are met, including the development of clinical standards and protocols, specialist evidence-based practice, audit, research, clinical and non-clinical risk management.

*

Complete assessment, treatment and evaluation of holistic therapy intervention.

*

Manage the development of integrated care programmes and discharge plan with the patient.

*

Line manage (including clinical supervision) staff / team (e.g. Band 5, Band 6, therapy assistants and students) - review of clinical activity and efficiencies.

*

Provide professional advice and leadership

*

To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality therapy intervention to patients

*

To lead the MDT as required.

*

Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis consisting of patients with complex needs associated within a specific speciality.
