Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) - Year 3

Location: Northampton NN7
Hours: Part-Time 8:30am-12:30am
Salary: £12-£15 per hour ( £50-£60 per day)

Start Date: 4/11/24 after October half term

We are seeking a caring and committed Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA).

The successful candidate will primarily support a Year 3 child with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

When not supporting the child, you will assist as a general Teaching Assistant within the Year 3 classroom, helping the teacher with a range of classroom activities and ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with specific learning needs, in line with their EHCP.
Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring the child remains engaged and supported during lessons.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor and report on the child's progress.
Adapt learning materials to support the child's development and ensure inclusion in all activities.
During the child's absence (outside of 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM), assist the Year 3 teaching team with general classroom duties, group work, and other tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the wider teaching team.
A commitment to promoting inclusion and a positive learning environment for all students.
Relevant qualifications are desirable.
