This role is essential to supporting the home's mission of providing high-quality, dignified care, particularly in areas such as dementia, palliative, and general nursing care. The successful candidate, a Registered General Nurse (RGN), will be responsible for creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for residents, helping enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications - NMC Registration: Nursing qualification as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid UK NMC Pin
- Clinical Experience: Previous experience in a similar setting (hospital or care home) is desirable, especially in dementia, palliative, or elderly care.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents, families, and the care team.
- Organizational Skills: Effective time management and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
- Compassionate Approach: A nurturing attitude that is sensitive to the needs of elderly and dementia patients.
- Flexible Availability: Willingness to work both day and night shifts, adapting to the home's needs.
Key Responsibilities - Direct Patient Care: Provide compassionate and responsive care in line with each resident's individual care plan, ensuring emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and assess residents' conditions, recording vital signs and reporting any changes promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough, up-to-date patient records that meet all regulatory and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, therapists, and other nurses, to deliver comprehensive, holistic care.
- Patient Safety & Comfort: Foster a secure and comforting environment, always prioritizing residents' safety and dignity.
- Team Support & Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior staff and student nurses, fostering a learning environment within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care practices.
