Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Supporting Children with SEMH

Location: Waltham Forest
Salary: daily rate £90-£110
Contract Type: Full time, 5 days - Term time only
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a mainstream primary school which is inclusive and nurturing educational environment.

About the Role:
As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional well-being and academic progress of children with SEMH needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families, you will help create a safe and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEMH needs.
Assist in the implementation of tailored learning plans and behavioural strategies.
Foster positive relationships to encourage confidence and self-esteem.
Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents.
Promote inclusivity and manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
Support children in developing social skills and coping strategies.About You:

Experience working with children with SEMH or similar needs (desirable but not essential).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, compassionate, and resilient nature.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
