Applications Engineer - Stamford - Attractive package

ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit an Applications Engineer for our client based in Stamford, Lincs with immediate effect.

The Process Burner Applications Engineer will focus on technical support within the EMEA region through applications solutions, proposals creation, technical support (both office and customer facing) and through supporting process burner sales. The applicant will engage both end users directly through revamp / retrofit enquiries, along with EPC's involved in capital projects. In this role you will work with our Technical & Sales team In Tulsa, along with and reporting to our Process burner Manager based in Stamford.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Applications solutions into proposal creation New capital project and revamp / retrofit (Analyses of the requirement and understanding of technical capabilities, into composition of accurate and detailed proposals in a timely manner to meet the customers expectation)
  • Composition of cost estimates Tied to a market-based sales structure
  • End user technical support To involve also face to face interaction at the customers location
  • Close engagement with the projects team to ensure optimal handovers
  • Close interaction with the Process Burner / Design teams to fully understand both new product development and the existing technology portfolio
  • Commercial awareness to optimise the proposal potential
  • Travel to customer's facilities to present, discuss and negotiate proposals
  • Be responsive to customers and internal product groups, ensuring their needs are being supported as well as clearly communicated
  • Build relationships with complimentary suppliers and service groups to assist our customers and grow business through strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure our client is on the vendors list for all products.
  • Travels to customer's facilities to trouble-shoot equipment problems if required.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned that are based on appropriate skills and experience

The person:

  • Degree in Engineering or suitable experience/ apprenticeship
  • Proven technical business development experience
  • International customer experience and enjoys travelling on an intermittent basis
  • Proven strong plant, petrochemical and/or refinery background
  • Must have good Microsoft office skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good technical sales and negotiating skills
  • Customer focused
  • Excellent; communicator, negotiator and team player
  • Resourceful, well organised, highly dependable, efficient and detail orientated
  • Confident and assertive
  • Ability use initiative and make decisions autonomously but with attention to detail
  • The successful candidate must live within a 1-hour commute of the Stamford office.
