About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee an Extra Care Scheme in Croydon, delivering high-quality care and support to approximately 45 residents. This is a key leadership position within our team, where you will ensure the smooth and compliant operation of the service, maintain high standards of care, and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including the local authority.
You will lead a dedicated team of care professionals, managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring staff are supported, and that all residents receive person-centered care. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in team building, networking, and developing positive relationships with the local authority.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, inspire, and manage a team of care staff to deliver exceptional care.
Provide regular supervision, appraisals, and professional development to the team.
Foster a positive and supportive work environment with a focus on staff engagement and retention.
Service Delivery:
Ensure that all residents receive care tailored to their individual needs, in line with care plans.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor and improve the quality of care provided.
Address resident and family concerns, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Compliance & Regulatory Requirements:
Ensure the service is fully compliant with CQC guidelines and regulatory standards.
Lead inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and implement corrective actions when required.
Oversee health and safety, safeguarding, and risk management protocols.
Networking & Relationship Building:
Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with the local authority and commissioners.
Act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders and community groups.
Represent the service at meetings and forums, enhancing the reputation of the scheme.
Financial Management:
Oversee budgeting and financial management, ensuring services are delivered within budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality care.
Monitor financial performance and report on key metrics to senior management.
Innovation & Development:
Ensure the service is continuously improving by identifying opportunities for growth and development.
Encourage innovation and best practices to enhance the quality of care provided.
Keep abreast of trends in the extra care sector and implement relevant changes.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Registered Manager or in a similar managerial role within the adult social care sector.
In-depth understanding of Extra Care services and experience in providing care for elderly or vulnerable individuals.
Strong leadership skills with a track record in team building and staff development.
Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with local authorities and commissioners.
Knowledge of CQC regulations and experience leading services through inspections.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A relevant management qualification, such as NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
Desirable:
* Experience working in an Extra Care or supported living setting.
* Strong local networks within Croydon or the South London area.
* Familiarity with local authority funding structures and processes.
