Position Overview

As a Senior Application Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of newly introduced products and applications. This position requires a deep understanding of application support, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level technical support for specific applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for support procedures and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior support engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance support capabilities.
  • Perform system audits and analyse logs to prevent future problems.
  • Lead in internal and external training workshops
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers to resolve issues.
  • Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in all support activities.

Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support.
  • Strong experience working with Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated solutions.
  • Experience working with AWS or Azure for IAM and other processes.
  • Experience working within a Scrum / Agile framework
  • Strong experience working with the MS Office application suite is essential
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues in [specific technologies, e.g., SQL, Java, .NET, etc.].
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and ticketing systems, e.g. JIRA, Splunk
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is highly beneficial
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
