Overview

Ecologic Consultant Ecologists LLP is an ecological and arboricultural consultancy based in Exeter, Devon. We work on a range of projects across the southwest from small-scale householder projects such as loft conversions through to landscape recovery projects focused on habitat creation and enhancement. We are seeking to expand our experienced team with an Ecologist and/or Senior Ecologist. The role is full-time, permanent and will be a mixture of desk-based & fieldwork.

The Role

The role will be varied and will include the following responsibilities:

* Undertaking PEAs using the UK Habitat Classification System & Biodiversity Condition Assessments

* Undertaking protected species surveys

* GIS mapping

* Report writing

* Ecological Clerk of Works

* Managing projects (dependent on experience)

* Reviewing reports (dependent on experience)

Criteria

* At least two years' experience of working in an ecological consultancy

* Protected species licence/s would be advantageous

* Knowledge of wildlife policy and legislation

* Strong report writing skills

* Proficiency in QGIS

* Effective communicator

* Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge

* Organised and able to prioritise workloads

* Educated to degree level (minimum BSc)

* A full driving licence and access to your own transport

* Have or are working towards CIEEM membership
