Director (Accounts) Peterborough Hybrid £80,000 - £90,000
Butler Rose are representing an award winning Peterborough based accountancy practice that is looking for a qualified Director of Accounts to lead their growing team to manage and provide support for a diverse portfolio of clients including property investors and high net worth expats. This is a strategic role that requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of accounting and tax services for SMEs and entrepreneurs.
Role ResponsibilitiesBuild, manage, and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring high performance and continuous development. Develop and execute a strategy to scale the accounting function, driving revenue growth and profitability. Oversee key client relationships, providing expert advice and ensuring service excellence. Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance within the accounting department. Implement systems and efficiencies to enhance service delivery and team productivity. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining high-quality service. Work closely with senior leadership to align accounting services with the firm's broader business goals.
Personal RequirementsACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent). 8+ years of practice experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior management role. Proven experience growing and leading a team or department within an accountancy firm. Strong technical knowledge across accounting, tax, and financial reporting for SMEs and entrepreneurs. Commercial mindset, ability to identify growth opportunities and drive revenue. Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
