Our driven Food Buying team are now looking for a passionate Buying assistant to join them in the Ingredients category here at Harrods.
About the Role
The role of the Buying Assistant is to provide comprehensive support to the Ingredients Buying team through working closely with the Assistant Buyer and Buyer to drive commercial performance and enhance the customer experience.
The Buying Assistant will help to ensure the smooth running of the Buying Office, across both operational models (Restaurants & Production Kitchens).
You will also be:
- Assisting in sourcing and creation of ingredients for both models.
- Working closely with the culinary teams, food-halls and restaurants to meet specific ingredient requirements.
- Conducting research on culinary trends, raw material market fluctuations and seasonal availability.
- Providing support to Buyers and Assistant Buyers with data analysis and reporting to optimise commercials.
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to drive a fit for purpose supply chain.
- Maintain accurate records of ingredient information such as supplier details and pricing information.
About You
You will have an understanding of the Luxury industry and be able to keep on top of key trends, brands and launches within the Food category. You will also have an understanding of data analysis and reporting to support the day-to-day operations and improve processes within the category.
We are looking for someone with prior knowledge of the Buying Cycle or with a relevant Buying qualification. In addition to this, you will be a great relationship builder with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have a solution based approach, with great attention to detail and expert numeracy and analytical skills.
You will also have:
- Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. SAP knowledge preferable.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task.
- Effective prioritisation skills and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proactive and solutions based thinking.
