Due to the current demands on the department my client are looking for individuals who have experience of working in New Product Development, specifically in the drinks industry

The NPD Technologist will join our NPD department to focus on liquid development projects and innovation. As NPD Technologist you will provide liquid technical support as required by the business and you will have the opportunity to be involved and to shape the creation and development of new exciting products.

* Integrating ingredient & recipe information from the development area into my clients systems

* Generating and overseeing the provision of documentation associated with Product Development to the relevant departments

* Ensuring all ingredients are approved according to the correct method

* Working closely with Quality Assurance and Production departments to ensure the smooth transition of liquid projects from Product Development to Production

* Liaising with ingredient suppliers

* Making up samples for Commercial / Marketing / Customers

* Supporting the NPD Manager in cost saving / optimisation projects

* Working closely with the Purchasing team on the procurement of ingredients and flavourings

* Developing new liquids and working closely with the flavour houses in order to meet the liquid development briefs

* Liaising with ingredient suppliers & authorised bodies to obtain legal advice

* Providing the required liquid information for the label for different markets

* Ensuring project files are completed, detailing the project status from concept through to launch

* Liaising with the NPD Manager in approving suppliers

* Advising on process change requirements

* Coordinating the sending of samples

* Organising shelf life and sensory trials for new products and ingredients

Key Ingredients:

* Good level of general education up to A Level or equivalent as a minimum

* Good administration skills

* Attention to detail and analytical skills are essential

* The ability to maintain a high level of discipline with the daily adherence to product quality

* Demonstrable experience of working as part of a team and working cross functionally
