Salary: £200 - £220 per day

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to work full-time with small groups of secondary pupils covering a range of subjects in a Pupil Referral Unit. This is a temporary placement is starting September 2024 until July 2025 with the possibility of starting earlier. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing challenging behaviour and teaching across the curriculum, with a focus on SEN/ALN.

Day-to-day of the role:

Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to small groups of secondary pupils within a Pupil Referral Unit setting.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using strategies that foster a safe and positive learning environment.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils, particularly those with SEN/ALN.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate lessons across the curriculum.
Monitor and assess pupils' progress, providing feedback and support to encourage academic and personal development.
Maintain accurate records of pupils' attendance, behaviour, and academic progressRequired Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit or specialist school.
Strong ability to manage difficult behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
Experience teaching across the curriculum with a focus on English.
Knowledge and experience working with SEN/ALN pupils.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
