The Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant plays a critical role in shaping students. Job Title: Behaviour / Learning Coach Teaching Assistant

Salary Scale: £80-£100

Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Coach Teaching Assistant: 

Behavioural Support: As a Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. 

Crisis Intervention: Be a key point of contact for managing and de-escalating behavioural incidents, working collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals to ensure a safe and secure learning environment. 

Individualized Plans: As a Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant you will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized behaviour plans. Monitor and adjust these plans as needed to address the evolving needs of students. 

Mentoring and Coaching: Offer mentorship and guidance to students, helping them develop social skills, emotional resilience, and effective conflict resolution strategies. 

Collaboration: As a Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant you will work closely with teaching staff, school psychologists, and external professionals to create a holistic support system for students with behavioural challenges. 

Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and report on the progress of students, providing valuable insights to inform ongoing support strategies. 

Qualifications of a Behaviour Coach Teaching Assistant: 

Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating a deep understanding of behavioural support strategies and crisis intervention. 

Empathy and Patience: Possess a compassionate and patient demeanor, understanding the unique challenges students may face. Your ability to empathize is key to building trust and creating a positive learning environment. 

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with teaching staff, students, and parents. 

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals to ensure the success and well-being of each student.
