Description of the Role:

Simply Education are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire and educate students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (KS5) for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality science lessons and helping students develop a deep understanding of scientific principles, while encouraging them to excel academically.

This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, well-resourced science department where collaboration, innovation, and student success are at the forefront of everything the school does. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students develop a love for science and achieve their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.
Develop lesson plans and assessments that cater to the diverse learning needs of all students.
Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that motivates students to engage with and enjoy the subject.
Regularly assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust lessons as necessary to meet the needs of each student.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-level exams, providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Maintain high standards of behavior and classroom management, in line with school policies.
Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of the science curriculum and collaborate with colleagues in the department.
Maintain regular communication with parents and carers regarding student progress and development.
Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related subject).
Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential; experience with Key Stage 5 teaching is desirable.
Strong knowledge of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Ability to create an engaging, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for science and teaching.
Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
