Reed is representing a leading logistics company in search of an Ocean Import Agent to oversee the end-to-end process of ocean freight import operations at a modern facility in Bristol. Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare and process all necessary import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs clearance requirements.
• Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Track shipments and provide regular status updates to customers.
• Act as the primary contact for customers regarding import shipments, advising on shipping options and import regulations, as well as addressing any issues.
• Prepare quotes, invoices, and billing for customers, ensuring all costs are accurately accounted for.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and other service providers to maximise profitability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous Ocean Freight experience, particularly within import operations.
• Good understanding and experience of HMRC Import procedures.
• High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and efficiently manage workload.
• Experience in a fast-paced office environment with excellent customer relations skills.
