Job description

• Teaching GCSE key stage 3 and 4 science, must be able to cover all 3 sciences
• Full time, starting 02/09/2024
• Working for a secondary school in Greater Manchester

Responsibilities of a Science Teacher:

• Working in the Science Department, you will be working with a variety of learners and be expected to meet standards of work
• Providing additional tutorial and pastoral support to students across the College as required
• Delivery of GCSE Key stage 3 and 4

Core Purpose:

• To teach students assigned to the teacher and to ensure that planning, preparation,
• recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
• To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
• To monitor and assess student progress to improve their quality of learning and personal
• growth
• To undertake the duties of a Form Tutor when required to do so in accordance with the role
• description
• To undertake the duties and responsibilities specified by the current STPC document

Requirements of a Science Teacher:

• A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent
• Experience of delivering the subject.
• A science related Degree is essential
• A current DBS
