The Role:
As the Finance Manager, you will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient management of financial processes. You will lead the month-end management accounts process, support budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to the strategic financial planning of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the month-end management accounts process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
* Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Analyse profit and loss variances and provide commentary with actionable recommendations.
* Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
* Manage and supervise a small team handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
* Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, providing valuable insights to support business growth.
* Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives, adding value across the business.
* Be a key player in the annual statutory audit process.
* Complete VAT and CIS returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
* Credit control, including managing credit checks and overseeing debt recovery.
* Prepare and manage monthly gross profit (GP) reports.
* Handle new employee contracts, commission structures, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Part-qualified, finalist, or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA (Essential).
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (Essential).
* Previous experience managing or supervising a team (Desirable).
* Knowledge and experience with Xero accounting software (Desirable).
* A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
