About the Role Manage and lead all events operations across the hotel. Collaborating closely with the Director of Groups & Events and the Director of Food & Beverage you will ensure all events are delivered to the highest standards exceeding guests' expectations.
Key Responsibilities - Strategically plan and manage all operational and logistical aspects of events department, adhering to Rosewoods standards
- To ensure the supervision of all full time, of casual and agency associates across all events and to ensure they adhere to service, grooming and Health and Safety standards
- Ensure manning and planning for all events allows for the execution of events to the standards expected whilst still also ensuring commercial viability
- Lead the planning and execution of all events day to day, ensuring alignment with guest expectations and hotel standards.
- Managing guests' experiences and expectations are accurately built into the events plan
- Alongside the Director of Groups and events ensure that guest communications both ahead of and on the day of events exceed guest expectations.
- Manage and mentor the events team, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing and wider operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Ensure all events meet the hotel's quality standards and guest satisfaction metrics.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and third-party contractors. Being the main point of contact for both for any events as required
- Work alongside the Director of Culinary to ensure event menus are continuously reviewed, reimagined and updated through the year
- Assist in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets. In particular, high use assets such as chinaware, glassware and flatware.
- Comply and adhere to the Rosewood company policies.
- Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new restaurant floor staff members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to team members, recognising and addressing areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimise efficiency and the quality of service.
- Responsible for Communicating on a regular basis on the performance of the business, successes, concerns, any issues and support needs
- Take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.
- Evaluates local, national and international market trends, vendors and other hotel/restaurant operations constantly to make sure that the hotel's own operations remain competitive and cutting edge.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events to drive customer traffic and revenue.
- Be a "brand ambassador" at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
- Model the company's culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
- Takes a proactive approach to management of the department, anticipating potential opportunities.
- To actively promote the services and facilities available to guests within the hotel and other Rosewood Hotels, maximising revenue from other outlets (e.g. car transfers, mobile phone rental, telephones, valet services, spa and Food & Beverage facilities, etc.)
About you - Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- A genuine enthusiasm for events and commitment to continuous learning about industry trends.
- Preferably you'll have had expose of experience of being part of a pre-opening team.
