Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Your new companyOur client is a growing SME in the media production and retail sector. They have been established for over twenty years, and have grown well over that period of time, becoming highly reputable in their specialist field.Your new roleThey are looking to appoint an experienced accounts payable lead to supervise the purchase ledger process, ensuring timely invoice payments and resolving any queries. Responsibilities will include:

  • Process invoices promptly and ensure timely payments.
  • Resolve any invoice-related queries.
  • Manage a Purchase Ledger Assistant, providing regular 1-2-1s and training.
  • Collaborate with team members to balance workloads and cross-train staff.
  • Maintain the smooth operation of the AP inbox.
  • Handle incoming invoices, purchase orders, batches, and recharges.
  • Verify supplier invoices and address queries.
  • Run weekly and monthly Bacs payments, including foreign transactions.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Issue credit notes for returned stock.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal buyers on payments and enquiries.
  • Manage company expenses, including petty cash.
  • Prepare Accounts Payable Ledger reconciliation for year-end.

What you'll need to succeedAs an ideal candidate, you will bring several years of demonstrable experience in purchase ledger maintenance, have experience in staff management, and possess excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Your organisational abilities allow you to effectively prioritise and manage a busy workload. Familiarity with Business Central or Navision is advantageous, and your keen attention to detail ensures accuracy. You collaborate well within a team, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and handle high-volume tasks with ease. Additionally, you thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
