Specialist Teaching Assistant - FY4

A specialist secondary provision school in Blackpool are recruiting for teaching assistants to support their pupils. If you are confident, patient and nurturing this role could be for you. The school accomdates up to 48 students from Year 6 to Year 11 who follow an EHC Plan to encourage their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The school ensures that all its students are supported through their education journey by providing core subjects and therapeutic interventions along with off site activities and work experience. 

As a specialist teaching assistant, your role will be to support teachers planning and delivering classes to its pupils along with ensuring the classrom and environment is safe for the pupils. You may require to support the pupils as a group or on a 1:1 basis. You will provide support for the pupils with both their educational and holistic development. 

Key Duties: 

Follow individualised timetables and EHC Plans
Encourage good behaviour
Consider the choices, needs and wishes of each pupil and encourage them to make the right decision 

Key Information:

Full-time hours Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm
Blackpool based, FY4
Competitive hourly rate of pay £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties
Supporting pupils with SEMH additional needs
Working within a high-pressured environment
