The Job: HGV Class 2 Driver
 
Drive and operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle with vacuum hose and high-pressure water jetting equipment.
Working closely with a skilled operative, you will assist in the operation of machinery for the clearance and maintenance of roadside drains to prevent blockages and reduce the risk of flooding.
Perform winter maintenance duties, including gritting, snow clearance, and emergency response, to ensure highways remain safe and accessible during adverse weather conditions.
Carry out other general highways maintenance tasks as and when required, this could include pothole repairs, resurfacing, and vegetation management.
Shift Patterns
 
Day Shift - 07:30-16:30
Night Shift - 19:15 - 04:45
Breaks paidCandidates can apply to work either day or night shift, however flexibility to work either shift pattern would be a bonus.

Pay Rates
 
Days - £15.34 per hour (PAYE)
Nights - £19.18 per hour for 8 hours per shift (7 on Friday), £26.85 per hour for remaining hoursExcellent uplift in rates for overtime and weekends. Additional standby and call-out payments in relation to winter maintenance.

Requirements
 
HGV Class 2 Licence with valid CPC.
Previous experience in highways or drainage would be advantageous.
Willing to undertake the physical aspect of the work.
