Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate HLTA to join a dynamic SEN school in Oldham. This is a full-time position, starting immediately, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of secondary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and some challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Learning: Assist in delivering tailored educational activities, ensuring they meet the individual needs of students with ASC.
• Behavioural Support: Implement and monitor strategies to manage and improve challenging behaviours, working closely with the school's SENCO and other staff.
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic development of students, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
• Resource Development: Help create and adapt learning materials and resources to suit the diverse needs of the pupils.
• Classroom Management: Occasionally lead the class in the absence of the teacher, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
• Progress Monitoring: Track and report on students' progress, providing feedback and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
• Experience: Previous experience working as a HLTA or in a similar role within a SEN setting is essential.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and strategies to support students with challenging behaviours.
• Qualifications: Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent. Additional SEN-specific training is highly desirable.
• Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and a nurturing approach to working with students.
• Flexibility: Ability to adapt to different situations and the needs of individual students, with a proactive and positive attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
