Salary: £13 - £20/hour

We are looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join a well-established animal feed manufacturing team based just outside of York on a permanent basis.

This is a full time permanent role working 5 x 8 hour shifts worked over seven days, according to rota drawn up by Transport Managers totaling 40 hours per week, starting time will be between 6am - 8am with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break.

The basic salary before overtime will be £27,248 per annum, overtime is £19.65 per hour after first 40 hours.

Job Purpose:

As a Driver you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient transportation of company products between various locations. You will adhere to company Codes of Conduct, ensuring a professional and courteous service to clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely load, transport, and discharge products between different locations, following safety guidelines and company procedures.
Carefully maintain and use company vehicles and equipment, conducting routine checks and vehicle maintenance in compliance with current legislation.
Ensure the cleanliness of company vehicles inside and outside, with regular cleaning as per inspection requirements.
Complete all associated paperwork and tasks, including record-keeping, sampling, cleaning, and fuelling, in line with business requirements and current legislation.
Maintain accurate records of working time as mandated by the company and relevant legislation.
Undertake necessary training and medical testing to ensure compliance with business and legal driving requirements.
Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a polite and courteous manner when interacting with clients and customers.
Adhere to bio-security measures and follow any specialist delivery or safety instructions from customers.
Correctly use personal protective and safety equipment provided for your safety and the safety of others.
Address spillages caused by deliveries, using provided equipment to ensure proper cleanup before leaving customer sites.
Uphold a high standard of performance when driving company vehicles, understanding that your conduct reflects the company.
Collaborate with the Technical Manager or deputy to address feed safety incidents.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by your manager, which may include cleaning in designated areas and assisting with production processes.Driving Licence Required: Heavy Goods Vehicle - Class 1, CPC, Digi Card, ADR an advantage but essential, Curtain Sider experience an advantage but not essential
