Teach Match Education Recruitment is currently looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Moston, Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student in need of tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with a student on a one-to-one basis, providing the individual support they need to succeed in the classroom. You will assist with their learning, help with any behavioural challenges, and provide the emotional support that allows them to feel confident and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer one-to-one support to a student, helping them engage with the curriculum and make progress.
- Assist with both academic work and social/emotional development, adapting your approach to meet the student's specific needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the student's learning plan is followed and their progress is tracked.
- Provide encouragement and a calm, supportive presence, helping the student to build confidence in their abilities.
- Help the student navigate social interactions, ensuring they feel included and supported in the classroom.
- Keep accurate records of the student's progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a similar 1:1 or support role.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
- The ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to adapt to a variety of situations.
- A proactive and flexible attitude to working in a dynamic school environment.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
