About the Company:
Our client, a highly regarded civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands, is seeking a skilled and dynamic Commercial Manager to join their expanding team. Specializing in infrastructure projects, their portfolio includes highways, pathways, bridges, and water-related works. Known for delivering quality and innovation, they pride themselves on building strong client relationships and fostering a collaborative working environment.

The Role:
As the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful commercial delivery of projects across the region. You will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and value for money while managing risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the commercial management of projects, including highways, pathways, bridges, and water infrastructure.

* Prepare, review, and manage budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts.

* Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

* Oversee procurement and manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, and final accounts.

* Provide strategic advice to the project teams on cost management and contractual matters.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.

* Monitor and report on project financial performance to senior management.

* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a similar role within the civil engineering or construction industry.

* Strong knowledge of contracts, including NEC and JCT.

* Experience managing projects in highways, pathways, bridges, or water sectors is highly desirable.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

* Proficiency in financial management and cost control.

* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is advantageous.
