About the Role:

TeacherActive are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and well-respected secondary school in South Gloucestershire, who are seeking a dedicated Student Support Worker to join their pastoral team. This is a full-time position to start as soon as possible and will involve working closely with students to support their emotional, social, and academic wellbeing.

In this role, you'll be a key part of the school's commitment to inclusive education and student support. You'll work across year groups, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted support to students experiencing challenges in or out of the classroom

Build positive, trusting relationships to help students develop confidence and resilience

Support behaviour management and wellbeing strategies in line with school policies

Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment

Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies when necessary

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people in a school or similar setting

Be patient, empathetic, and approachable

Have a passion for student welfare and making a difference

Be confident working with pupils who may need additional emotional or behavioural support

Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
