CNC Machinist Job in South Molton, Devon!

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist responsible for setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines to produce parts according to engineering technical drawings and established procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure parts comply with specified measurements and make necessary adjustments.

Key Responsibilities for the CNC Machinist:

* Collaborate with the pre-setter to ensure correct tooling setup.

* Set and operate CNC machines following specific programs and work instructions via the DNC link.

* Load tooling into CNC machines as required.

* Verify the accuracy of the initial part (first off).

* Inspect parts using appropriate measurement tools.

* Correct errors by adjusting offsets on the CNC machine.

* Obtain and maintain “A Stamp” Approval status for machines and processes.

* Inspect the work of team members when necessary.

* Work independently to resolve issues according to company procedures.

* Apply lean principles, tools, 5S, and seven wastes, and participate in Kaizen events.

* Adapt to different machines and assist colleagues as needed.

* Be flexible with work patterns to meet business needs.

* Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on machines.

Working Hours for the CNC Machinist:

* 2-week rotating shift pattern, 37 hours per week.

* Week 1: Monday to Thursday 6am to 2pm, Friday 6am to 11am.

* Week 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm to 10pm, Friday 11am to 4pm.

Qualifications and Skills needed for the CNC Machinist job:

* Experience in setting and operating CNC Turning and Milling Machines.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand Geometric Tolerancing.

* Competence in using various engineering measurement tools and techniques.

* Good computer literacy.

* Aerospace industry experience is advantageous.

* Familiarity with different operating systems is beneficial.

* Experience working with CNC machines.

* Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

* Apprentice qualified or similarly experienced in CNC Turning and/or Milling.
