HV Technician

Location: Central Scotland (with travel across the UK)

Toro Recruitment is seeking a HV Technician within the renewable energy sector. This role is ideal for a technician with experience in High Voltage (HV) systems, whether from the HV contracting industry or the wind farm industry.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Perform inspections and maintenance of HV/LV substation equipment under maintenance agreements.

*

Carry out HV/LV cable jointing, including specialist terminations.

*

Troubleshoot and resolve faults within electrical systems.

*

Install switchgear, transformers, and related equipment.

*

Conduct earthing tests and associated electrical testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

*

Emergency First Aid and Manual Handling certifications.

*

Full, clean UK driving licence.

*

Ability to complete Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training and offshore medical requirements.

*

Strong IT skills for reporting and documentation purposes.

*

Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and CDM regulations.

Desirable:

*

Current HV Authorisation (Technician or Jointer/Fitter level) for 11kV and 33kV networks.

*

CSCS/ECS Card and City & Guilds Inspection and Testing qualification.

*

MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) and PASMA (Scaffolding) certifications.

*

ONC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
