Located in Albrighton, Wolverhampton
Our Private Client are recruiting a locum Speech and Language Therapist for their Learning Centre in Wolverhampton.
At their learning Centre, children and young people live as well as learn. The young people live in a children's home located on the same site and attend the learning centre during the day in term time. The unique characteristic of their integrated provisions are the delivery of wraparound education, therapy and care to all children and young people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans tailored to each student's specific needs and EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.
- Assess and identify the speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) of pupils aged 9-18 with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and related diagnoses.
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other therapy professionals to integrate SLT strategies into the wider curriculum.
- Support classroom learning by advising on communication-friendly environments and strategies for behaviour linked to communication difficulties.
Requirements:
- Be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
- Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and associated neurodevelopmental needs.
