Purpose of role:

Our client is an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering contractor working within the UK construction industry, mainly within Water Utilities.

The Project Manager will demonstrate good commercial aptitude in playing a pivotal role in delivering specialist projects (mainly within the UK Water Industry) with individual values ranging from c£1K to c£500K and must have a committed and flexible 'can do' attitude to undertaking a multi-functional project management role to successfully deliver a variety of Electrical/ Mechanical / Instrumentation / Controls / SCADA / Telemetry related schemes.

He/she will be responsible for the complete project and programme management of multiple MEICA projects across our client portfolio, working with other members of the project management group as well as senior staff from the Operational team to assist in the commercial aspects of each project, supported with appropriate resources to conclude the works via the various multi-disciplined departments within Unitspark which may or may not include sub-contracted labour as required.

This role will require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff (both senior and junior) and external clients / contractors in a polite, professional and courteous manner.

The Role

Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include: -

Initial project feasibility, survey, project scoping, estimation, design
Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, and communicate these plans to stakeholders.
Planning and purchasing materials / sub-contractors as required.
Planning resource availability, and skills requirements liaising with internal staff to secure multi-disciplined internal labour.
Regular liaison with client representatives
Adjusting projects priorities and milestones based upon the customer's changing needs.
Providing regular feedback on operational issues / concerns to stakeholders and senior managers
Monitoring project budgets and assisting with data for commercial invoices.
Participate in a call-out rota to cover Clients 24/7 reactive breakdowns
Planning and scheduling resources to meet project goals.
Adhere to Companies Policies, Procedures & Legal Practices
Adhere to the Companies Health & Safety Policies & Procedures
Adhere to the Companies Quality Management system.
Adhere to the site-specific rules & regulations & to leave sites clean & tidy.Essential for Role:

Electrical Or Mechanical Experience and qualifications
Industrial Controls and Telemetry Experience
Computer literate / good IT skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
HNC level of education as a minimum
UK Driving License.
Good organisational and time management skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good budget management
Ability to negotiate commercially.
Ability to work well with other teams within the company.Desirable for Role:

Industrial Controls and Telemetry Experience
Strong understanding of Electrical and /or mechanical systems, design principles, and project management methodologies.
Willing and able to train others.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design tools.In return our client will offer:
