Design Engineer

Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 per year

Job Type: Full-timeWe are seeking a Design Engineer to join our innovative team, focusing on designing special purpose machinery machinery. This role offers the unique opportunity to be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from concept to commissioning. Our client is committed to designing and manufacturing bespoke equipment in the UK, tailored to our customers' specific needs.

Day-to-day of the role:

Design processing plants and detail them to individual component level using Autodesk Inventor.
Produce comprehensive parts drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly drawings for the Production Team.
Conduct site surveys and work closely with customers to provide technical solutions and recommendations.
Collaborate with customers to design and develop innovative new products.
Engage with suppliers to determine the best materials and solutions for projects.
Manage projects from concept to installation and commissioning, coordinating with customers, sales, and manufacturing teams on challenging projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or a similar 3D CAD package.
Experience in a related field, such as conveyors or structural engineering, is preferred.
Detail-oriented with a creative approach to problem-solving.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
A practical mindset and willingness to engage hands-on when necessary.
