Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in South Tyneside.
This school offers a supportive and educational environment for pupils aged 2-19.
Many pupils within this school have complex or profound needs with the majority having severe learning difficulties. Therefore, experience in a similar setting is essential for this role.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30-16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
- Have experience working with SEND or vulnerable groups.
- Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
- Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students.
- Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
- Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
- Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
