The Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating tailored learning experiences for students with a wide range of additional learning needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities. You will work closely with other staff members, including teaching assistants and external specialists, to create an individualized learning plan that meets the needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality teaching to students with Special Educational Needs.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
Assess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure effective learning.
Work closely with the SENCo and other colleagues to support the inclusion of SEN students in mainstream education.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Liaise with parents and carers to discuss student progress and provide support strategies.
Contribute to the development of the school's SEN policy and initiatives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs.
Strong understanding of a wide range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload of students.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Postgraduate qualifications in SEN, such as a SENCo qualification or Autism Education.
Experience of working in an SEN setting or school with a diverse range of special needs.
Knowledge of specific teaching strategies or interventions for SEN students
