A well-respected principal contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager for the successful delivery of a 30-unit new build residential scheme, comprising two blocks over three floors. The project is set to run until March/April 2025.

The successful Project Manager will have experience running traditional build contracts and will be comfortable working on refurbishment and new build projects in the commercial, residential, hospitality, education, and healthcare sectors, with build values up to £13m. Projects will be in London and within the M25.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the Contracts Manager, Design Managers, Site Operations Team, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage site activities, ensuring all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor and report on project status.

Requirements of the Project Manager: To be successful in this role, the Project Manager should have:

  • Residential Background: A proven track record in managing residential construction projects.
  • Experience with Main Contractors: Extensive experience working with main contractors on larger schemes is essential.
  • Sector Knowledge: Candidates must come from a main contractor background and not from a developer.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse project team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all project stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

Qualifications Required:

  • A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • CSCS / SMSTS
  • Professional certification such as MCIOB or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Relevant Health & Safety certifications.
