Occupational Health Practitioner
Location - Worksop
Salary - Up to £22,138.79 per annum (pro rata rate)
Part-Time 22.5 hrs per week
Our client, an established group of colleges, is looking to recruit a Part Time OH Practitioner to join the team.
A Day in the Life of an Occupational Health Practitioner
- You will be reviewing pre-employment questionnaires, identifying and conducting any assessment to ensure fitness for work
- Review pre-employment screening questionnaires, to determine fitness for duty and ensure appropriate action for health concerns/conditions to ensure an accessible working environment for all staff
- To provide advice and guidance to Managers and Staff via a professional OH service to promote and support Health & Wellbeing
- To promote and contribute to regular Health & Wellbeing initiatives to colleagues throughout the company group
- Liaising with the Health & Safety team, Managers and HR to ensure any reasonable adjustments are in place as required
- Assessing referrals to the OH service and providing advice and guidance to maintain a physically and mentally fit workforce
- Working with the HR Officers in supporting staff returning to work following a period of absence, providing medical advice and guidance on any adjustments required
- Organising and conducting appropriate health surveillance assessments in conjunction with Health & Safety requirements for specialist curriculum areas, liaising with external agencies as required
- Identify any health trends within the organisation and determine any preventative initiatives or actions to prevent ill health and absence via health screening, health clinics or other health initiatives
- Lead and/or participate in groups that support the promotion of the Health & well-being of staff including Mental Health First Aiders
- Work with the Health & Safety Team to improve the provision of First Aid, in addition to increasing the skills and confidence of the Group appointed First Aiders
- Organise, promote and deliver an annual Flu vaccination drive and any other immunisation service that may be required in response to a health need
- Organise and maintain information on external support agencies/services to refer staff for specialist support not available within the organisation
- Work with the HR Team lead to put together an annual plan for Health and Wellbeing
- Will, with the support of the wider HR Team Lead in the organisation of the group Health & Wellbeing Training Day
- Proactively develop, implement and regularly review Occupational Health policies and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to Occupational health services
Skills and Experience for the Role of Occupational Health Practitioner
- Must hold experience in an Occupational Health position outside of a Hospital environment
- Will have had experience in a medical role
- Experience working within an education environment would be useful
- Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
- Ideally, hold a First Aid at Work Qualification
- Must hold a recognised Occupational Health qualification
- Will hold a registered nursing qualification
- Ideally, you will be a member of the Health & Care Professions Council
- NEBOSH certificate would be useful, but not essential
