Management Accountant

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Management Accountant to join this Bath based finance team. The ideal candidate will be part-qualified with a recognised accounting body and possess strong analytical skills, with a focus on supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.

Day to day of the role:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Reconcile sales invoices with shipment transactions.
  • Analyse and authorise employee expenses while managing the online expenses portal.
  • Contribute to reporting monthly figures to the parent company.
  • Prepare, review, and process various journals, including month-end journals, cost allocations, and justify relevant accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, reconcile with the trial balance monthly, and post depreciation and impairment transactions.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, reconcile bank balances, and uphold financial controls to ensure robust and reliable financial information.
  • Support year-end finalisation, trial balance preparation, statutory financial statements, and the annual audit process, including liaising with external advisors.
  • Liaise with tax advisors regarding corporation tax and R&D credits topics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified with a relevant accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Experience with month-end financial reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in data management and delivering high-quality reports and analysis.
  • Initiative to resolve issues and seek solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire for continual improvement and driving efficient ways of working.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
