JMC Aviation is working with an MRO company based in Birmingham, looking to recruit a new Check Management Support Engineer to join their team.

This client is a leading MRO dealing with line and base maintenance as well as interior modifications and fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.

This is a Permanent Position based in Birmingham, UK.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to be a focal point between production and the customer to ensure emergent issues are resolved in a timeframe which minimises impact to production including TQN/NCR management from start to end of the process.

Other Duties Involve

  • Reporting directly and working closely with the Senior Engineer to drive production towards key milestones
  • Gathering information to identify and report issues and trends to the Senior Engineer as well as other key stakeholders
  • Being a focal point for Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
  • Liaising, discussing and agreeing with the customer for all over and above tasks, ensuring that they are signed off by the on-site rep prior to the work commencing and/or prior to any potential over-run
  • Creating, maintaining and analysing booking codes in the company labour management system to ensure fixed price targets are delivered
  • Monitoring hours from booking reports to spot any potential overruns on O&A's or any booking errors which may affect O&A's
  • Creating, maintaining and sending task card over-runs and O&A sheets for Commercial and Base Management review at any time during any input
  • Monitoring the overall work package budget at task card level, highlighting overrunning to Managers and Lead Mechanics on a regular basis
  • Creating a daily report and sending to the management, showing open/closed cards and worked hours at task level
  • Sending daily status report to key stakeholders at an agreed time in order to discuss hours for the day
  • Liaising with the third-party working parties to ensure PO's, purchase requests and work is carried out
  • Acting as a point of contact for third parties on site
  • Preparing O&A submissions and obtaining approval from nominated representative

In order to be successful in this role the Check Management Support Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

  • Completed an apprenticeship or equivalent in an aviation engineering
  • Completed Human Factors, SFAR phase 1&2 and EWIS group 4 training
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Right to live and work in the UK
