Quality Manager - Aerospace

This is an excellent opportunity to join an aerospace manufacturing business based in Blackburn as a Quality Manager.

THE ROLE

As Quality Manager you will lead the quality team in this bespoke precision machine shop business and will have responsibility for:

* Quality Assurance activity within the production facility

* Representing the business whilst dealing with customer quality enquiries and warranty issues

* Working with the customer to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes

* Working with both customers and suppliers to manage source change and ensure conformity

* Reviewing and improving processes to drive a 'Right First Time' culture

* Focusing heavily on problem-solving and root cause analysis using recognised techniques such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa

* Completing regular quality audits and contributing to the AS9100 and NADCAP approvals

* Proactively building relationships with key customers to maintain and improve quality performance

They have a long track record of supplying well-established customers in the aerospace industry such as Rolls Royce, BAE Systems and Airbus. THE PERSON

* You will be an experienced Quality Manager with a background in the aerospace industry and will be comfortable dealing with specific demands of AS9100 and NADCAP

* With the focus being on developing a 'Right First Time' culture, you will be used to working with Technical Drawings and have the ability to produce clear and user friendly SOPs

* A knowledge of GD&T and metrology would be a clear advantage as you will be working to tight tolerances on all components

* As you will be the 'face of quality' you will be an excellent communicator and will be comfortable being the first point of contact with the customer.

* Finally, you will be a positive communicator and will have the ability to engage equally well with the shop floor, senior management and external customers and suppliers

* This is an onsite role so you would need to be commutable to Blackburn with legal right to work in the UK
