Finance Assistant (Temporary Assignment: 12 months)

We are looking for a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our client on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will handle the day-to-day processing of financial transactions using the Trust’s financial systems and processes. This role is crucial in supporting the Finance Team's operations and requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong grasp of financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Management: Set up and maintain approved new suppliers in the finance system, including keeping paper files for audit purposes.
  • Order and Delivery Management: Efficiently receive and record orders and deliveries, ensuring system accuracy.
  • Invoice Processing: Process purchase invoices for authorisation and handle account queries related to orders and invoices.
  • Order Follow-up: Chase orders not yet received for budget holders and assist with maintaining a filing system for purchases requiring quotes.
  • Cash Management: Oversee the receipt, counting, safekeeping, and banking of all monies received, process petty cash and expenses, and manage systems for collecting cash for farm income and school trips.
  • System Promotion: Promote the Parent Pay system and process monthly journals for the Trust.
  • Documentation: Maintain finance documentation to audit standards and provide general administrative support as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with financial systems, particularly PSF (PS Financials).
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage financial transactions with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for handling queries and liaising with various stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to promoting systems and initiatives such as Parent Pay.
  • Commitment to professional development and adherence to the Trust’s policies and codes of conduct.
