Salary: £40000 - £55000/annum plus performance bonuses

Project Management Responsibilities

Product Development & Project Execution

* Oversee end-to-end product development for kitchen and bathroom appliances, from concept to production managing timelines and budgets.

* Work closely with R&D, design, engineering, and marketing teams to align projects with business goals.

Budget Management

* Develop cost estimates for design, prototyping, and manufacturing negotiating with suppliers for the cost effective solutions.

* Manage external contractors for tooling, testing, and production.

Risk & Compliance

Ensure all appliances comply with UK/EU regulations, including:

* UKCA & CE Marking, WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) for water-related appliances and BS/EN electrical and safety standards

* Conduct risk assessments for product safety, durability, and user experience.

Quality Control

* Oversee product testing (waterproofing, heat resistance, energy efficiency, durability).

* Ensure products meet ISO 9001, RoHS, and eco-design directives.

* Manage final documentation and handover from R&D to production and sales teams.

CAD & Product Design Responsibilities

* Create, modify, and review 2D and 3D CAD models for kitchen and bathroom appliances.

* Work on technical drawings for components such as sinks, taps, hobs, ovens, extractor fans, dishwashers, showers, bathtubs, and smart fixtures.

* Support prototyping using 3D printing, CNC machining, or injection molding.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Engineering Collaboration

* Ensure energy efficiency, water conservation, and ease of maintenance in designs.

Software Proficiency

* Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX for 3D modeling and technical drawings.

* Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress testing.

* Familiar with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software for documentation.

Manufacturing & Supplier Coordination

Material Selection & Sustainability

* Choose materials based on heat resistance, corrosion resistance, durability, and aesthetics.

* Ensure compliance with WRAS for water appliances, RoHS for electrical components, and eco-friendly materials.

* Work with sustainable materials (e.g., recycled plastics, low-energy components, water-saving technologies).

* Collaborate with overseas manufacturers for tooling and mass production.

* Review and approve molds, tooling, and first production samples. Conduct factory visits and quality inspections.

Compliance

Product Testing & Certifications

* Manage appliance testing for electrical safety, water pressure, temperature resistance, and durability.

* Work with third-party labs for CE, UKCA, and WRAS certifications.

* Maintain regulatory documentation for audits and legal compliance.

Team Leadership & Innovation

Cross-Functional Team Management

* Lead designers, engineers, and production teams to meet project deadlines. Assign tasks, manage workloads, and oversee product development milestones. Mentor junior CAD designers and engineers.

Market Research & Innovation

* Analyze competitor products and market demand to guide new product development. Work with R&D to integrate smart home and IoT capabilities where relevant

✅ Experience:

* 5+ years in product design, project management, or engineering, ideally in kitchen and bathroom appliances.

✅ Key Skills:

* Understanding of UK compliance regulations (WRAS, CE/UKCA, RoHS, BS EN safety standards, energy efficiency ratings).

* Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) is a plus

* Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
