Up to £55 per hour

Morson are recruiting for a mostly remote Senior Project Engineer for one of our major Defence clients based in Plymouth. Working within the infrastructure development team you would support major upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be working within the Water Boundary team, helping to manage the lead design consultant for a critical civils design package.

We're ideally looking for someone with experience in facility upgrade or infrastructure projects, as you will manage the delivery of heavy civils infrastructure designs. You will need to work with users and other stakeholders to ensure that the integrated facility is delivered to time, cost, and quality. The role is based in Plymouth but you would only need to be on site for 2 or 3 days every 6 weeks, alongside occasional travel to other UK sites. This role is being offered on a 12 month contract with possibility of extension or permanent conversion at a rate of up to £60 per hour Umbrella.

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of a Senior Project Engineer is to ensure effective design and project management of sub-packages.
You will be part of the Project delivery team managing NEC professional services contract for design on main dock civils work.
Support a project manager overseeing the project.
Managing the design of water retaining boundaries, and communicating with construction teams.

Requirements

Civil engineering experience.
Contract Management experience - managing and delivering, reviewing deliverables, working with the contractors to delivery on time.
NEC experience
A bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in a STEM subject area.
Experienced with CEMAR.
Understanding of Risk
Experience of project or design management, ideally within an infrastructure delivery.
Desirable Experience

Experience managing and administering an NEC4 contract.
NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
Experience in delivery of nuclear safety implicated structures, equipment or services.
APM project management qualification (or equivalent).
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
