QA API Testing Specialist

Lorien's leading Banking client is looking for a QA API Testing Specialist to join them on an initial 6 month contract.

This role will be Via Umbrella.

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Tester with strong expertise in API testing, Groovy scripting, and GitLab CI/CD. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SOAP-UI, RESTful services, and automation frameworks. This role involves designing and executing API test cases, automating test scripts, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with development teams to enhance system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain API test cases using SOAP-UI/Postman.
• Automate API testing using Groovy scripting in SOAP-UI.
• Validate API responses, including JSON/XML structure, response codes, and database integration.
• Perform functional, integration, regression for APIs (SOAP & REST).
• Work closely with developers and product teams to resolve API-related issues.
• Implement and maintain automated API tests in GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure security and compliance testing for web services.
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in API testing (SOAP & RESTful services).
• Strong proficiency in Groovy scripting for test automation.
• Expertise in SOAP-UI, Postman, and API automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD for test automation integration.
• Familiarity with SQL queries for API validation.
• Experience with version control systems like GitLab/GitHub.
