Company: ASEND LIMITED

Job Type: Permanent, PartTime

Salary: £30.00 - £38.00 per hour

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in Birmingham. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream school, a specialist school or adulthood.

About the role

We are looking for a tutor to support a 16 year old with regulating his emotions and his academics. Our pupil has ADHD and mild learning difficulties and can sometimes find it difficult to manage his behaviour and emotions when he is distressed. He is a caring and sociable boy who is creative and has many interests. Listening to music, production and music related activities are some of his favourites, including dancing and Drill music. He has a knack for solving mysteries and likes to stay active by doing gymnastics. Our pupil is keen to keep up to speed with his education and particularly enjoys maths - he needs some more support with literacy.

The ideal tutor would be someone who shares some of his interests and can incorporate these to make learning more enjoyable. Someone who is fun and energetic would be a great match for our pupil’s personality, who could also help him develop social skills along the way. Some essential qualities we look for in our tutors are sensitivity and empathy, as some of our pupils have faced difficulties and challenging environments so they need a more sensitive and nurturing approach to learning.
