Head of Production - Nationwide - up to £70,000 + Company Car

Ford & Stanley are working with a leading operator in the UK Heavy Haul and intermodal logistics, with 160 locomotives transporting containers from all major deep-sea ports to a national network of inland terminals.

They are in the midst of an exciting growth phase and are looking to strengthen their leadership within the engineering and production side of the business. They have created two new "Head of Production" positions, one of which will manage Heavy Haul and the other Intermodal. They will play a key role in driving the performance which focuses on the maintenance of locomotives and wagons at 7 depots across the UK.

This individual needs to be engaging and inspire others, communication will be key. As an inspirational leader, they will motivate and empower teams to create a high-performing workforce driving productivity and efficiency across depots in their remit.

Senior position - will take full responsibility for the safety, productivity, and efficiency standards of the depots they are responsible for.
Ability to drive Continuous Improvement initiatives
Supportive. develop and mentor others - Will be responsible for the development of 'green' Depot Managers to help them perform at their best.

Locations:
Head of Production (Heavy Haul) - Leeds, Hope Valley and Mendip
Head of Production (Intermodal) - Southampton, Crewe, Manchester & Ipswich 

Candidate Essentials:

Leadership experience in an engineering environment - proven management experience.
Strong Communication skills- proven experience in presenting and reporting at Senior Level.
Previous experience working within Fleet Management.
Previous experience of dealing with unions.
