RM Recruit Ltd are working in partnership with our Lambeth based Housing client to recruit an Interim Maintenance Manager for a period of 4 months with a view to extend. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a forward thinking organisation where you will be instrumental in decision making.

Main duties include:

* Be responsible for managing a small team

* Directing the team to ensure the desired outcomes/targets are achieved

* Responsible for ensuring that the organisation deliver a high quality, efficient and safe repairs and maintenance service to properties

* Effective management of the empty homes/voids service in respect of returning properties fit to let for new tenancy

* Management of the property responsive repairs service, monitoring job allocation, work in progress, completions and contractor utilisation

* Dealing with major repairs including disrepair claims

* Receive, raise and track repairs reported by resident

* Liaise with contractors, Repair Technicians and residents giving guidance, support or details on specific/corrective actions where needed.

* Deal with and resolve all resident queries e.g. outstanding works, queries relating to works

* Provide repair and cost information to pursue rechargeable repairs.

* Inspect and report on void related works e.g. tenant transfers, terminations, void repairs and post work inspections

* Resolve and/or recommend changes to specifications or quality issues on responsive repairs, medical, void or other maintenance works.

As the ideal candidate, you will be available immediately / short notice and this role is working on site 5 days per week. You will need to have a good working knowledge of property maintenance and health and safety working practices. The successful candidate will also possess strong written and verbal communication, time management, organisational, interpersonal, problem solving and leadership skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office packages to a high standard. Ideally, you will possess experience in management and leadership, be a calm leader and possess extensive experience of voids, repairs and maintenance.
