We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team within an industrial FMCG environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering mechanical engineering projects, focusing on pipe laying, machine and pipe de-commissioning, and re-commissioning, while ensuring strong stakeholder communication and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring project goals are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
Coordinate and oversee the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of mechanical systems and machinery in line with project requirements.
Manage pipework laying and other mechanical installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget tracking, ensuring milestones are met.
Collaborate with stakeholders including internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
Communicate technical requirements clearly to non-technical stakeholders and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during machine de-commissioning and re-commissioning processes.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, reports, and other technical documents.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address challenges and minimise project delays.Key Requirements:

Qualification: UK Level 3 Mechanical Qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
Proven experience as an Mechanical Project Engineer within an industrial FMCG setting.
Strong exposure to pipework laying, machine decommissioning and re-commissioning, and mechanical system installations.
Solid experience in managing and delivering mechanical engineering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, and electrical codes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership in managing project teams and contractors.
Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to different sites if required.Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects involving both electrical and mechanical systems.
