Salary: £180 - £250/day

The school unit supports seven children, each with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and varying degrees of Autism. The role is full-time and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these children, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning:
Plan, deliver, and assess personalized learning programs tailored to meet the diverse needs and abilities of children with Autism.
Individualized Support:
Work closely with the children to implement EHCP targets, ensuring each child receives the support they need to achieve their potential.
Classroom Management:
Create a structured and nurturing environment that fosters engagement, independence, and positive behavior.
Collaboration:
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide holistic support for each child.
Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff members to deliver high-quality, inclusive education.
Assessment and Progress Tracking:
Monitor and record each child's progress, adapting strategies as necessary to meet their individual goals.
Development:
Stay informed about best practices in SEN education, particularly Autism, and participate in relevant training opportunities.Essential Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience working with children with Autism and other SEN needs.
Strong knowledge of the Autism spectrum and effective strategies to support learning and development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each child.Desirable Qualities

Experience working in a specialist SEN setting or unit.
Additional training in SEN (e.g., Autism-specific courses, Makaton, PECS).
