Registered Children's Home Manager

Accountable for: Implementing the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards including the Management of all Staff at the Children's Home.

Job Purpose:

Manage the staff and resources of the Home, to provide a safe, positive living
experience that promotes the welfare of the resident young people

Liaise with the Responsible Individual and carry out delegated tasks as required

Ensure that all staff receive regular supervision, appraisals and continuous
professional development

This role includes an expectation of on call and out of hours working.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for leading and managing the home in a way that delivers the ethos,
outcomes and approach set out in the home's Statement of Purpose.

Responsible for leading and managing a team which provides high quality care
for all young people living in the home.

Responsible for regularly monitoring and reviewing the quality of the care
provided by the home.

Fulfill the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure that all staff are
aware of their safeguarding and child protection responsibilities including the
'Whistle Blowing policy

Oversee, on a day-to-day basis, the safety, care, and development of all residents

Oversee the monitoring and implementation of each resident's Relevant Plans

In order to ensure each young person's needs are met the Registered Manager is
responsible for seeking to develop the home's effective working relationships with
each young person's placing authority and with other relevant persons which may
include services, individuals (including parents), agencies, organisations and
establishments that work with children/young people in the local community, e.g.
police, schools, health and youth offending teams

Ensure that all staff work as a team to achieve positive outcomes for the
residents, throughout the placement, in line with their individual care and
placement plans and Children's Homes Quality Standards

Oversight and control of young people's records in the team to ensure it is
undertaken to the satisfaction of Commissioners and all relevant external
authorities

Must have: Level 5 in registered childrens services
