Overview
Mech Electrics are currently recruiting for a Technical Lead to join our building services client in the Nottingham area. As the Technical Leader, you will be a senior member of the Management team, contributing to the technical and design community that drives excellence for this revered built environment service provider. Your role will be vital in supporting the mission to become the UK's leading technical solutions provider within the built sector and our client is highly respected within their field. Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management: Collaboratively manage relationships with internal stakeholders (bid teams, commercial teams, operational teams) and external stakeholders (clients, consultant partners, supply chain, and manufacturers).
Governance and Compliance: Adhere to corporate governance and processes, upholding expected behaviours and values.
Project Oversight: Oversee and manage effective design and technical management across multiple projects, focusing on the pre-construction phase.
Risk Management: Set up projects to minimize technical and design risks, ensuring a smooth transition to the construction phase.
Compliance to industry regulations: Ensuring that good practice and regaulations are adhered too at all times.
Key Outcomes
Technical Responsibility: Lead the pre-construction phase design processes for projects within your region, ensuring effective coordination and communication.
Technical Strategy: Establish and monitor the technical strategy and deliverables plan for all projects, including technical reviews and compliance with standards.
Risk Mitigation: Identify, manage, and mitigate design and technical risks.
Specialist Integration: Ensure timely introduction of relevant internal and external specialists to project teams.
Design Coordination: Ensure designs are properly coordinated and communicated.
Regulatory Compliance: Understand and manage technical obligations under the Building Safety Act and CDM, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Value Engineering: Oversee design development and integration of value engineering and change management.
Consultant Management: Identify project design needs and manage consultant deliverables and fees to align with pricing, procurement, and construction deliverables.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Education: BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related building services degree.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a design-related building services engineering role.
Sector Experience: Preferably in healthcare, commercial, leisure, MOD/MOJ.
Project Management: Ability to manage projects with MEP values ranging from £5-50M.
